  1. As much as I love creating systems and having automated processes in place, it just has very little place in social media these days.

    Nobody reads twitter feeds of someone who auto-shares a bitly link every hour. When was the last time you really interacted with someone who has obviously auto-scheduling like that? Maybe if it’s a person, but never if it’s a brand.

    Plus, there is always the chance that the public attention will shift to something very sad and you will tweet/post something horribly out of context. Events like the Paris attacks are a great example of where real people shut up, and your automated sales tweets can get you in trouble for being of poor taste.

    • I completely agree with Alex. Automation is dangerous, but can also be really efficient.
      I guess that we should find a balance between automation and real interactions.
