I don’t know but I am not a big fan of podcasts as I don’t enjoy listening on the go. It spreads my focus too much that I don’t understand it. But I do see how you can learn from it and how it is effective.
Aira,
Thanks for your comment. You don’t have to be on the go in order to listen to podcasts. You could sit down with your computer, tablet, smartphone, and listen to podcasts. You don’t have to more around at the same time! 😉
You could use tools like iTunes, Stitcher, etc., if you want to listen to a podcast. You could also visit the website / blog of the podcast show, and stream the podcast on the site.
Please tell me what kind of computer / tablet / smartphone, you have, and I will guide you… 🙂
All the Best,
Martin
Senior Tycoon
Great list – subscribing to these business podcasts doesn’t mean you have to stream/download or listen to every episode. You choose – so its like have a great audio library on call.
Senior Tycoon: Thanks for your comment. You are right, you don’t have to stream / download, or listen to every episode. I like the word, audio library on call! 🙂
The sentence should be: “You don’t have to move around at the same time! :)” 😉
Move your hands to the keyboard and check out the podcasts! 🙂
What kind of gadgets / tools do you use when you are listening to podcasts on the go?
Smartphone, tablet, MP3 player?
iTunes, Stitcher, Downcast, Overcast, etc.?

Ileane: Thanks for mentioning the Stitcher app, as a solution for Ryan.

I would recommend this podcast for next year’s list.
Thanks again for a great list

Martin and Anita, I am again honored again to be included in such awesome company. Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is my 5th year and I cannot believe we have 470K downloads. I guess that answers the age old question about who listens to podcasts? We know they are valuable in the content mix, especially today.
Deborah,
Thanks for your kind words! 🙂 Congrats to your 5th year of podcasting and an impressive number of downloads!
I started my first podcast in 2006 on Solid Vox Radio. After that I started an interview series of about 20 episodes on BlogTalkRadio. I have now podcasts on LibSyn, SoundCloud and Audioboo.
After a Social Media Club event in Gothenburg, Sweden, Lotta Gergils Aston and I, decided to start a new podcast show, TrendPal. We have created 5 podcasts so far, including the pilot episode.
I agree with your statement that a podcast could be a valuable ingredient in the content creation mix. The podcast movement will empower the blogosphere.

Great list. I launched a podcast this past summer and have been getting some great traction on the ratings. Small Business Naked is all about telling the stories of successful small business owners, from the perspective of two small business owners. We focus on talking to mostly brick and mortar businesses with employees from around the world…from driving race cars, to cutting grass, making doughnuts, and selling diamonds, the businesses owners that we talk to are usually successful in their region, but have spoken to and will speak to some great national and international founders. To name drop, we have the founder of 1(800)Got-Junk, The Shane Co., and Threadless all in the cure for 2015, and past guest have been from Voodoo Doughnuts, 99Designs, and many smaller businesses just killing it. Please consider us for the 2015 list, and let us know who you’d like to hear from. Thanks!
Nick May: Thanks for your comment! Talking about 1(800)Got-Junk, have you listened to Anita Campbell’s interview with Brian Scudamore (SMBtrendwire.com October 23, 2012)?
Hey Martin – great list – thanks for putting this together every year.
We’re a bit into 2015, and I’m curious if you’ve come across http://rocketship.fm yet.
We’re just over a year into the show and have recorded 120+ amazing short-form interviews with folks like Hiten Shah and Jason Cohen.
Worth a look 😉
Matt: Thanks for your kind words! I will check out your podcast show. You started in January, 2014?
This design is wicked! You obviously know how
to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Fantastic job.
I really enjoyed what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it.
Too cool!
